It can be annoying to find your car in a crowded parking lot, but Google has a solution now. With the launch of the Google Maps Parked Car Feature on iPhones, remembering where you parked will be simpler than ever. The marker is removed once you resume driving after this update automatically determines where you parked and saves it for up to 48 hours.
When your iPhone is linked to the vehicle via USB, Bluetooth, or Apple CarPlay, the system functions. Google Maps temporarily marks the location of your car on the map as soon as you stop driving. The pin automatically vanishes when you start driving again. This eliminates the need for screenshots or manual steps to help you remember where you are.
This is the first time Google Maps is automatically saving parking locations; previously, users could do so by hand. This update puts Google Maps on par with its rivals, Apple Maps and Waze, which already provide comparable features. The feature is presently only available on iOS devices, according to Google’s product team, and there is currently no official confirmation regarding when Android users will be able to access it.
The use of personalized car icons is another intriguing addition. Google Maps now displays the car icon you’ve selected for navigation in place of the standard “P” symbol, making the experience more individualized and aesthetically pleasing.
For millions of drivers, this feature could save time and reduce stress in busy parking areas. Whether at shopping malls, airports, or stadiums, Google Maps is making sure you never lose track of your car again.
