Faisal Mumtaz Rathore take oath

In Muzaffarabad, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore take the oath of office as Azad Jammu & Kashmir’s 16th prime minister. A significant political shift in the area was marked by the ceremony, which confirmed that Faisal Mumtaz Rathore would take the oath of office following a resounding no-confidence motion against Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq.

Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar administered the oath during the ceremony, which took place at the Presidential Palace. Along with Faryal Talpur, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, senior civil leadership, military officials, and assembly members, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was present at the event.

During his inaugural address, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore thanked Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Faryal Talpur, and Asif Ali Zardari for their confidence. He pledged to live up to the expectations of the Azad Kashmiri people, while acknowledging the difficulties of leading during trying times. According to him, the Pakistan Peoples Party has assumed responsibility for reestablishing contact with the populace and meeting their needs.

Rathore also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army in defending the country. He pledged to launch successful public welfare initiatives and to bolster the Kashmir freedom movement with renewed vigor.

Following a motion of no-confidence in the AJK Legislative Assembly, in which 36 members voted for him and two against him, he was elected. He became the fourth prime minister to hold the position under the current assembly and the 16th prime minister of Azad Kashmir. Rathore was proposed as the alternative leader of the house by Sardar Javed Ayub, Chaudhry Qasim Majid, and other members.

With the PPP regaining control of Azad Kashmir, the change is viewed as a significant political one. Rathore’s appointment was hailed by the public and party officials as carrying on the legacy of his late father, Raja Mumtaz Hussain Rathore. It is anticipated that his leadership will prioritize development, governance, and furthering the cause of Kashmir.
