(London, October 2025) The British government has revealed plans to start issuing new passports adorned with the royal emblem of King Charles III, set to roll out in December 2025. This design marks a significant shift in the identity documents of the United Kingdom following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
As reported by British media, the UK Home Office has unveiled a fresh passport design that not only reflects the essence of modern Britain but also pays tribute to its royal heritage. The royal emblem of King Charles will showcase the iconic “Tudor Crown,” a traditional symbol that has been used by previous British monarchs and is now being revived under King Charles’ rule.
These updated passports will also feature stunning representations of Britain’s natural landscapes, capturing the country’s culture, diversity, and breathtaking beauty. Officials have assured that passports displaying Queen Elizabeth II’s emblem will continue to be valid until they expire. Those holding older passports won’t need to rush to get replacements right away.
It’s worth mentioning that passports have been issued in the name of King Charles III since 2023, but this will be the first instance where the new royal emblem is physically included on British travel documents.
This change represents the ongoing evolution of the British monarchy under King Charles III, seamlessly blending royal tradition with a contemporary flair as the nation progresses under his leadership.
