Islamabad, July 28 – The Meteorological Department has forecast rain with thundershowers in various parts of the country, including the federal capital, Islamabad.
In response to the anticipated weather conditions, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood alert, warning of potential flash flooding in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. According to the NDMA, heavy rainfall is expected in areas such as Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, and Shigar from July 28 to 31.
Azad Kashmir is also likely to experience rainfall, particularly in Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, and Bagh. These rains may lead to flooding, and there is an elevated risk of landslides in mountainous regions, the NDMA cautioned.
Authorities are urging residents and travelers in the affected areas to remain vigilant, follow safety advisories, and stay updated with the latest weather information.
