The US travel ban countries 2025 list is growing once more. The Trump administration has stated that it intends to expand the number of nations on its list of prohibited travel to more than 30. This action follows an attack on National Guard members in Washington, D.C. that was connected to an Afghan national.
The precise number of nations is still being determined, according to US Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem, but President Donald Trump is keeping a careful eye on international affairs. It is likely that nations with unstable governments, inadequate data sharing, and a lack of cooperation in US security checks will be added.
Immigration applications, including those for citizenship and green cards, were suspended for 19 non-European nations last week. The US banned travel to 12 countries entirely and partially earlier in June.
The administration is reportedly now thinking about imposing restrictions on 36 more nations, possibly including parts of Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The choice is a component of a larger national security plan that aims to stop threats in the future.
The following nations have already been impacted:
- Full or partial prohibitions apply to Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, Eritrea, Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan, North Korea, and Venezuela.
- According to reports, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Chad, Mali, and other countries are being considered for inclusion.
Immigration procedures, student admissions, and visa processing are all impacted by these travel restrictions. Before making travel plans, Pakistani students and tourists should speak with immigration advisors and stay informed through official US embassy channels.
