Sarfaraz Ahmed Pakistan U‑19 team

Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been given an important new role with the national Under‑19 cricket team. He has been formally named as the team manager and mentor for the forthcoming ACC Under-19 Asia Cup by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This move is seen as a major step to bring experience and guidance to the young squad.

Sarfaraz will travel with the team and serve as a leader off the field during the tournament, which will take place in Dubai from December 12 to 21, 2025. His presence is expected to motivate the players and help them handle the pressure of international competition.

The entire Asia Cup team has been revealed by the PCB. Usman Khan has been appointed vice-captain, and Farhan Yusuf will lead the team. Other players in the squad include Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Hasan Baloch, Ali Raza, Daniyal Ali Khan, Hamza Zahoor, and Huzefa Ahsan. Alongside them, Momin Qamar, Muhammad Huzefa, Muhammad Siyam, Muhammad Shayan, Naqab Shafiq, and Sameer Minhas are also part of the team.

Cricket enthusiasts and experts are applauding Sarfaraz Ahmed’s appointment. Known for his fighting spirit and leadership skills, Sarfaraz has previously led Pakistan to victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. His experience as a wicketkeeper‑batsman and captain will now be shared with the next generation of cricketers.

Young athletes have a crucial opportunity to display their skills at the Under-19 Asia Cup. The team is anticipated to gain from Sarfaraz’s expertise in international cricket and his capacity to foster camaraderie.

This decision also reflects PCB’s strategy to involve former national stars in grooming future talent. By combining youth energy with senior mentorship, Pakistan hopes to strengthen its cricketing pipeline and prepare players for the senior team.

Supporters are excited to watch the young team’s performance in Dubai under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s guidance.
