Meta AI in Urdu for Pakistan has been officially launched to let Pakistani users interact with Meta’s AI in Urdu and English.Meta AI in Urdu for Pakistan was unveiled at the “Future in Focus: AI and Innovation” event, which was backed by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. The event featured an image captioned: “Meta AI Urdu launch event in Islamabad with MoITT and Meta officials.”

Alongside the Urdu rollout, Meta introduced pilot programs aimed at enhancing AI education and driving digital transformation within the government. They also released a localized version of the Deloitte guide on public sector innovation, featuring Llama, to help boost AI adoption in the public sector. This initiative includes collaborations with HEC, NCEAC, MoITT, and AtomCamp to implement an AI literacy program that will train 350 university faculty members across Pakistan, as reported by The Express Tribune.

Officials emphasized that the launch in Urdu is designed to make AI more accessible for those who may not be fluent in English, while also speeding up the country’s digital transformation in line with the government’s Digital Nation vision. Meta also shared its plans for the Government Digital Transformation Experience (GDTX) 2025, which aims to promote best practices, technological solutions, and collaborative strategies between the public and private sectors, according to Daily Times.

Analysts believe these initiatives could enhance local AI adoption, bolster public sector capabilities, and create a steady stream of trained educators to prepare students for careers in AI-driven job markets. This coordinated effort showcases the increasing collaboration between public and private sectors to integrate AI tools and literacy across the nation.
