Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook intercepts drug-laden dhows in Arabian Sea

In a significant win against international drug trafficking, the Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook has made headlines by intercepting two stateless dhows in the Arabian Sea, seizing narcotics valued at an astonishing $972 million. This intense 48-hour operation resulted in the confiscation of over two tons of crystal methamphetamine, along with 350 kilograms of methamphetamine and 50 kilograms of cocaine.

This impressive seizure was part of Focused Operation AL MASMAK, a collaborative initiative under the Saudi-led Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150). This task force brings together naval forces from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, France, Spain, and the United States, all united in their mission to combat illicit trafficking across international waters.

A Team Effort to Protect Our Seas

The operation underscores the vital role of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) in safeguarding essential sea lanes that stretch over 3.2 million square miles. By targeting stateless vessels commonly used for smuggling, the CMF aims to cut off the flow of narcotics, weapons, and other illegal goods in the region.
